Chakra @ Mumbai

My very short stay in Bombay! We were zonked out as Indian pax can get a little demanding at times...so we skipped the whole sight seeing thing...so we only went for dinner!
Ever tried authentic Indian food?
It's to die for! Only in India!
So peepo if u ever wind up in Bombay for work...
I recommend you to eat at chakra!
The place is like an expensive fine dine restaurant but trust me it's damn cheap!
And it's Delicious as always <3
We always eat there as it is close to our hotel!
There's another place call the Persian darbar but it's not as good as before..disappointed!
So here's a sneak peek on what we had the other day!

Murgh tandoori rocks!
After this you will never eat tandoori in kl :p

BeLow is the awesome murgh Briyani!
Just so you know, the portions in India is huge!!!
A one person portion can be eaten by 3 adult Malaysian!
It's so flavorful and it's not dry..
Somehow some places that sells briyani, I tend to find it dry...the chicken as well..
But here... It's damn nice! Moist not over cooked!

We ordered paneer tikka masala ...
Paneer is a kind of curd cheese!
It tastes a little sourish but when eaten with the pickle acar...it's the bomb!

We ordered garlic naan too!
My fav!!
Gosh! The aroma of the garlic is so strong you can smell it a mile away!
It's so good so moist! Unlike in kl where it just turns your Makan mood off!
This is like wowww!!
And it's crispy too...oh gosh I'm craving for it again!

Then we ordered the lamb kebab..my first time trying...
I was thinking that the kebab was like a wrap?
Malaysian style comes with a wrap..but this came just the meat..
Something new! There wasn't the foul lamb smell...it was juicy n good!
Simple and well seasoned!

So that's all we ordered...
Here's my companion for the day! My cute set crew!
I'm the rose among the thorns haha..
Oh ya! One more thing don't forget to try their drink call mosumbi!
It's actually limau ais and u can get it anywhere by the road side..
But advisable not to la,,,I bet you heard about the water in India...so if u don't wanna spend your entire day in the toilet then don't drink from the streets! But from a decent place like chakra, do give it a try!
Refreshing especially at a hot place like Bombay!

Okay...signing off now! Till the next blog, see you!

Kuching seafood adventure!

Hey guys!
Sry for the late update..was really busy with work and the celebrations etc..
So this was my trip to Kuching at Muara tebas!
Thanks to an awesome leading stewardess Nina and her friend sabariman for bringing us around.
Another thumbs up for an awesome Makan set!
Hardly get a chance like this and when u do..pls get your ass up and go!
You can sleep anytime later and stare at 4 walls when you're back to kl!

So here goes!
We arrived just in time for dinner on the first day..
And of course, the nearest place for seafood around Hilton hotel would be...
TOPSPOT!
Duh~ where else?
The place where crew suka lepak!
So 5 of us charged up the stairs n head right up to Ling Long seafood booth just nearby the entrance.
Trying something different rather then always eating at the bukit mata stall no.35 (if nt mistaken)
And apparently...it turns out to be a total thumbs up!!
So much better thn the stall no.35!
So we ordered
-sweet n sour crabs(cravings satisfied)
-curry bamboo lala
-fried squid
-nestum prawns
-midin belacan (only in Sarawak)

The crab was delicious! Hands down the awesome tasting bamboo lala! Who'd knew bamboo lala could go so well with curry..usually i had the ones cooked with dried chili.
The nestum(cornflakes) prawns are juicy n crispy! Yums..and so is the fried squid!
The fried squid at no.35 is chewy n rubbery whereas this stall was crispy! Prawns are big too!
Definitely eating at this shop the next time :)
*satisfied*

The next day we went for an early morning flight schedule n came back around noon.
Then nina's friend came over to pick us up to Muara tebas
Upon arrival he was confused on which shop it was tht was famous etc. so we went in the first shop which was the wrong one! XP
Too bad we made orders already..sabariman's friends were next door eating seafood n we r stuck in the not so nice shop to eat D:
The food there was so so..the only thing good was the hand size oyster!
My first time eating n seeing an oyster that BIG!

The meal was so unsatisfying so we randomly went for round 2!
Next door after the bill was paid! Woohoo!
Best tasting crab!!!
Sabariman's friend treated us the crabs there... It was so good!
Hehe and it was on the house..which makes it better! XD tq lovely peeps for the treat!

And later on a few of us just chilled in the coffee shop in Hilton hotel..
When the dark skies appeared..the banana cheese are calling for us!
Drove somewhere near merdeka square...its in the housing area
And suddenly popped out a cozy house cafe..
I guess it's the place where locals chill...its called "Riuk Kuring"
(Google for the address if u are interested to try )
Sounds familiar anyone?
Anyways we all wanted to try everything!!
*greedy smile*
So we ordered all 3 flavours which was original, chocolate and milo!
You can request the waiter to seperate the milo cs it sticks to the cheese and it'll just be a blob of chocolate powder sticking on the cheese...(refer to the pics)
so I recommend you to seperate it :)
Damn those bananas tasted like heaven!
So we ordered more plates of this sinful dessert! *yums*

Teehee! Later we headed straight back to sleep!
Another long day ahead the next day plus early wake up call
=_=
So that marks the end of this post!!
Goonaiiit peepo!

A walk to chatuchak market

Heard about chatuchak market in Bangkok for a gazillion times but never really been there...
So on my short stay in Bangkok, finally I decided to check it out!
To my amazement..this place was huge!!
You literally can find anything here..the place is well organized too..so you don't need to worry of getting lost..
All you gotta do is get a map from the info counter at the main entrance!
*there are more then one entrance.. Do get the right one *
They organized the place in a way where the pottery, arts and crafts are in a section..
And clothes are in another,
Souvenirs, massage, etc. it's all here!
Not to mention Thai street snacks *shrieks*
XD
It's an all in one place to hangout during the weekends!
Don't worry it closes pretty late as well.. So you can blow out your pockets here the entire day

So I came out of the train station and walked through a park...out of the park entrance, there were many stalls selling the locals delicacy from noodles to bbq squid etc.
*stomach grumbles *
But of course! Keep calm Mel...keep calm!
There were oceans of people..quite squeezy when you get to the small walkways
So through the entrance and in we go!

This place is massive! Got so excited exploring every little inch of this place and without realizing it's starting to get dark :(
So we got crazy shopping clothes which is super cheap!! Cheaper then platinum mall in my opinion!
Bought many dresses for like 100bht each!
So I was a happy kiddo! <3
Anyways, how can we forget the food when we step into Thailand!
Of course not duh!
So for the starts I had my favorite coconut ice cream!
Anything with coconut makes me go cray cray! :p
Selfie of course a must have!

Then i tried this squid with my favorite green chili and below is just cabbage..
It's super spicy I super love it!!
The spicier the better!! That's the spirit! Yums!
Dying to have it again!

So here's my companion of the day!!
He's a very nice guy..and hey!! He shop more then me haha!
Meet Cassidy!

For dinner..after a long walk we were drained out..so we simply picked a stall in the market..
It wasn't what I expected honestly..
I mean we expected since it was the road side so the locals were the chef and we were expecting delicious food and especially the tom yum! But to my disappointment , it sucks bad...
Even the road side Tom yum in Kl taste way better!!
And it wasn't exactly cheap? What a rip off!
It tastes like ajinomoto with chilly and there wasn't much seafood in it..mostly cabbage..it was horrible I can't even finish it..
I guess it's mostly for the foreigners to try...so sad to think they can't truly taste the delicious tomyum!
So peeps! Choose your shop wisely! Not everywhere in the streets are as delicious as it seems!

So after the unsatisfying meal,
We continue our walk..and passed by a cart selling bugs!!
Yums! I tried crickets before back in Kl...my bestie, Shanel's mom brought some fresh crickets back from hatyai! She cooked it with soy sauce and it was scrumptious!
Scared to eat at first..but after the first bite..you really just can't stop!
More like French fries only scary looking!
So this time I tried the wombs and grasshoppers!
Yummy yummy...the wombs taste way better! Love it!
The grasshoppers aren't as nice cause u get bored eating so many of it..it feels quite yucky after awhile..

After that it was quite late and we needed to get up early the next day..
So we headed back to our hotel..

Tadah! I didn't mention I got a tattoO?
It was cheap so hey..why not right? Haha
It was done at the sides of my rib cage...

I ordered room service later on cause I was still hungry..
Ugh...thinking about the horrible tasting tomyum really spoilt my appetite there :(
I ordered pad Thai! It was so good! Their tomyum was to die for!
Guys who are staying at Novotel Bangkok should try room service! It's wonderful! And you don't even need to go out! Thumbs up to the chefs!!

So this marked the end of my short stay in Bangkok...
And another adventure awaits!
Till then, goodnight peeps!
