In short i will talk about the perceptions of a teenager about their physical appearance in the society. What does the term "physical appearance" is to a teenager? From my point of view as a teenager, in this very day and age many teens, whether  girls or guys are vain and concious about how they look, how they dress, how they speak and so on in their everyday life. In this period, teenagers goes through rapid growth in their height, bone structure and pimples would start growing. Especially for girls, they will go through many changes in their body which will cause them to feel uncomfortable and lose confidence in the way they look. So many of them tend to dress up according to fashion trends these days. An example, you can actually see it with your eyes. Practically everywhere you walk these days, you will see people dressing up the korean style, people are selling korean fashion, korean this and korean that. Why? Its because the "K-pop" trend is very happening now. And as you can see, korean girls are so pretty and elegant. Most teens especially girls want to look as pretty as them so that people wont look at them in a weird way and say "eee yerr!! look at what she's wearing! so old fashion!". But some tend to overdo by over dressing or over doing their make-ups, which turn them from a ordinary looking girl into a monsterous looking face. But to them it looks pretty. Weird much? Majority of the girls also like to give their fringe a straight cut or have side bangs which is rebonded. We classify these kind of hairstyles as the"lala" hairstyles. There are also the "lala" people which means they dress up with all sorts of colourful clothes that doesn't come in one piece. Of course the boys are also same. Not all but most of them nowadays like to cut their hair with all sorts of crazy hairstyles like the mohawk style or having bangs. You might be surprised that guys these days even wear makeup or even paint their nails. Honestly speaking, teens now don't dress up according to their style or their likings. They dress to please mankind. They want people to accept them in society and not be the black sheep in society. Now finding a teenager that dresses according to their comfort and likings is like finding a needle in a hay stack. On the extreme side, especially in the US regions, they undergo plastic surgeries to themselves so help them achive the "perfect" look. Being satisfied with one’s physical appearance is not always an easy thing to do.When teens are teased or made fun over  their physical appearance, this has a very negative affect on them and is very harmful to their self-image.   Besides that, teens are also undergoing a stage where they are adjusting themselves to fit in the so call "normal" society, so they wouldn't only care about how they dress. They also care about how they speak. A social life to a teenager is very important which means the language they use counts a lot. Majority now speaks english as it is considered a mother tongue to most people. So for those chinese educated teens, they envy of those who can speak english well and tries to speak english to fit in. Unfortunately they do not speak proper english. That is why majority are speaking broken english nowadays. So in short terms, Deeper qualities of the character or a person are really what sustains us in life. Teens should not emphasize that looks are everything and that what is on the inside really is more important and is what that matters the most. Just Be yourself.
